June 7, 2011 Board Meeting Agenda Item #12 Title AUTHORIZATION FOR PROVISION OF LEGAL SERVICES Description School Board employee Barbara Brannen has been sued by former School Board employee Karin Ehlers for matters arising out of the termination of Ms. Ehlers' employment with the School Board.  Section 1012.26, Florida Statutes, authorizes the School Board to provide legal services to an employee when she is sued for actions arising out of and in the course of her assigned duties.  The claim against Ms. Brannen arise out of the performance of her duties and her participation in the decisions which led to Ms. Ehlers' employment being terminated. Recommendation That the School Board authorize its general counsel, Matthews Eastmoore, to represent School Board employee Barbara Brannen in the case of Ehlers v.
